The war of desktop searchers 01.06.2005 | |
| | First was Google, with his Google Desktop Search. I used it for some weeks, and was not bad, but when it was needed I didn't found what I was looking for, basicly because only search some specific kind of files. Uninstalled.
Then I tried the one of M$ Windows Desktop Search. Everything was more integrated (obviously), and I was able to search more kind of files and the preview of the files was cool as well, was very similar to Apple's Spotlight. But somehow, the HardDisk is always scratching. It says "Windows Search will only search when your computer is Idle". Is it idle when I am watching a DVD? Uninstalled.
Technology is a bitch. I'll sort my stuff.
Oh! and also I hate the bloody ".DS_Store" files! | | posted by ricardo cabello at 11:37 | | 8 comments written so far |
| UPDATE: Uninstalling the MSN Search Toolbar just stops at 1/4. Very professional of you M$.
That war is making everything very silly.
