Just close it and go away. If you want to compare to something, is like buying sweets to your kid because he is crying for some sweets. If you buy him sweets, everytime he wants sweets he will cry again, and this is bad, isn't it? So, don't let the website developers use childish tricks like that to gain your attention, let them know that it's annoying just closing the window.
